Instructors: Quantock, Suttner
This is the GRRA’s high school program for summer 2014, accepting rowers from any high school in the Grand Rapids area. Rowers should be entering their freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year in high school, and previous rowing experience is helpful but not necessary.
Athletes will largely use sculling shells (1x, 2x, and 4x), although sweep shells will be used periodically as well. Racing is not a focus of this program, although those wishing to compete at regattas may be able to do so with coach approval. Regatta fees and associated expenses are not included in the program cost.
Practices are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3:30 to 5:30 pm at the Grand Rapids Boathouse. Practices will begin on Monday, June 9 and will end on Friday, August 8. There will be no practice on Friday, June 20.
Registrations will be accepted on an ongoing basis throughout the summer. The fee for the program is $150. Fees cannot be reduced due to partial attendance except in individual cases and with board approval. Payment is expected in full within two weeks of registration on this site.
