This is the GRRA's middle school program for summer 2011, accepting rowers from any school in the Grand Rapids area. Rowers should be in middle school or entering high school in the fall, and need no previous rowing experience.
Practices are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Grand Rapids Boathouse. Participants will learn basic rowing techniques and will also have the opportunity for informal competition throughout the program. Just 28 spaces are available for the program, and those fill quickly!
The fee for the entire program is $200, although students that have also enrolled in either middle school camp (June 18-22 or June 25 - 29) will receive a code for a $50 discount on this program at the completion of the camp.
Registrations will be accepted on an ongoing basis throughout the summer. Please direct questions to coach Lauren Holben at firstname.lastname@example.org, an experienced GRRA coach that is also the head coach for the Grand Rapids Rowing Association's adult Learn to Row programs, as well as head coach of Northview High School's rowing program.
