The Grand Rapids Rowing Association is pleased to offer a "Rowing Shell Repair Fundamentals" clinic Saturday February 25 - Sunday, February 26, 2012.
We are honored to host Matt LeBlanc, of LeBlanc Rowing, LLC, will be the clinician. LeBlanc has previously coached the freshmen women's team at Grand Valley State University, and joined University of Michigan Women's Rowing in September 1998 as Facilities Coordinator & Equipment Manager.
The clinic will take place at the Grand Rapids boathouse from 12 noon until 4 pm on Saturday 2/25, and from 10 am until noon on Sunday, 2/26. Participants should be interested in learning how to repair rowing shells and will gain hands-on experience for much of the clinic. Rowing repair tools are not necessary for the clinic but can be brought if you have specific questions. Participants should dress appropriately for cool temperatures, as the clinic will take place in an unheated boathouse (although there will be a space heater).
This course is designed for beginning coaches or those who desire a refresher course on basic shell repair methods. Participants need not be a member of the GRRA (or USRA) to attend this clinic, and will not receive any form of certification at the completion of the course. This clinic will be hosted at the GRRA boathouse at 291 North Park NW (click for a map and directions).
Public registration is $30, GRRA members registration is $10. Registration is available until the end of the day on Friday, February 24, 2011.
