Intended for those with a little more experience (including students who have recently finished the Beginner class), this class is designed to give students additional workouts to complete a valuable workout regimen using the indoor rowing machine. There will be some technique review, but a lot of serious workouts (that anyone can do).
Participants will learn advanced techniques for maximum power and stroke efficiency, and will consider racing strategies, use of the anaerobic threshold, interval work, and training strategies to improve power and results.
Beginning rowers will be accepted with the permission of the coach.
Your instructor will be Dustin Ordway, GRRA coach and author of the indoor rowing book "Row Daily, Breathe Deeper, Live Better" for a four-session class at the YWCA in downtown Grand Rapids. Locker rooms are available at the YWCA, and parking is available on the street or in nearby parking lots.
Classes meet 7:30 - 9:00 pm on Tuesday evenings.
