Sam Rysdyk rowed for Rockford High School Crew from 2003 to 2005, earning 2 golds at indoor races on the lightweight men’s squad, and rowing in the senior heavyweight four as a lightweight junior. He was also co‐captain of the team his senior year. Additionally, Sam was a counselor at Boys State, an American Legion sponsored government simulation camp for high school seniors. At Boys State, he was counselor for three years and head counselor his fourth year. He recently graduated from Law School at Michigan State University, and returned to Grand Rapids in July 2012 to study for and take the bar exam. Sam is the novice men’s coach for Grand Rapids Junior Rowing.
